Back to Uni..

Hey, I was thinking that when we get back to uni on tuesday we then have 1 Week till the presentation so I was thinking that maybe we get in to Uni early Tuesday morning say 9ish and start printing asap so that we can get as much dones as possible as quickly as possible, leaving us some time to prepare for the presentation. What do you all think?

  1. I totally agree. So I guess that means we need to know exactly what we are printing. Are we happy with my business card designs? I was thinking maybe they need an address on them like the letterheads do, but a condensed version of it?

Are we printing the letterhead and envelope designs and then putting them into the computer to drop the opacity? I think maybe that's the best way of doing it, but I wasn't sure if anyone else had considered this.

Do we want to screen print a version of my poster with the pattern on it? Because I'll have to prepare that for screen.

Aaand, are we screen printing our tshirts too? That's all I can think of that we need to print right now...

  2. I would be ok with meeting up Tuesday, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to. Worst case, feel free to meet up Tuesday and we'll catch up after. Sorry :/

For the business cards, I'm happy with what I've seen. The letterhead and envelope could be printed straigth from the computer in my opinion. I don't think it will make much of a difference printing on the screen print studio and scanning it to print after. I think what matters here is the choice of paper we use.

That poster would look quite nice on print screen.

For the T-shirts it might be better to use some high quality transferable paper rather than doing it on the studio. Or even take our finished designs a printing studio. Just my opinion though, so feel free to do what you feel it's best.

  3. Really love the business card! Definitely happy with that, and I think a condensed address could be good, maybe like Eldon Building and then the postcode perhaps?

I think Marta makes a good point, as long as the paper choice is good it should give it a good texture for the letterhead and envelope if we print it from the computer. I think if we decided to screen print that as well it might take us too long.

I think the business card and your poster should be our main screen print focus.

The transferable paper sounds like a good idea for the t-shirts, that or I saw some t-shirt markers in the art shop I got the ink from as another option.

I'll be at Uni for 9 tuesday then and will get a screen coated for us to use for the cards etc :)

  4. I'll do my best to be there to help.
Are we booking a tutorial on the same day? Our last tutorials are Tuesday and Thursday so it might be a good idea to book on both days.

  5. Definitely think we should get a tutorial for both days, I think it will help a lot. Because we're getting in early we can sort that out tomorrow morning.

As far as the poster goes I'm just undergoing a few more developments, I'll post them on the blog a bit later. Thinking of not making the logo so prominent. But poster and business cards should be ready to print for tomorrow morning.

Think we'll need to buy the transferable paper tomorrow too. If we get our first tutorial early, say like 10am (if that's possible) then hopefully we'll have a really strong direction for the week.
