We're using our logo too much

This might seem a strange critique, but looking at everything we have in the blog, most of our designs seem to have a big focus on our logo. Don't get me wrong, as we know the logo is one way of seeing an identity, but not the only one.

I think we should explore other ideas, concepts and looks that don't rely so much on our logo. I believe we have a strong ethos and a really good core of ideas that we can use to show who we are without having to put the logo on every single design.

T-shirt design part 2

The top one has a larger logo in the bottom right corner than the bottom one does, I'm not sure what you prefer, but this provides a space for people to actually write at the end of the dots, as Sara suggested.

Back to Uni..

Hey, I was thinking that when we get back to uni on tuesday we then have 1 Week till the presentation so I was thinking that maybe we get in to Uni early Tuesday morning say 9ish and start printing asap so that we can get as much dones as possible as quickly as possible, leaving us some time to prepare for the presentation. What do you all think?

I have a plan...

About the website that is. This is related to the other design website I liked, but I thought we could use the 'I like your face' bit with those little characters I drew when we did the poster. Basically the one on the left walks closer to the one on the right beckoning it closer with each page. And on the contact page, or the 'final' page, they can say 'I like your face'.

It's a bit like a metaphor of the friendly relationship we want to have with our clients and expresses our fun-loving attitude.

Also I was thinking on the home page we can have our logo in the middle and around it illustrations for each of the pages, so like a phone for contact page and passport photo for our profiles.

I think I will do some more decent looking mock-ups of this idea but thought I'd share.

EDIT: Here is 'more decent mock up'. I'm not saying this necessarily for layout etc but more style/concept. When anything is clicked on, what's in the centre moves to the top...

And the general layout would be a bit like this. I've found some jQuery script which should be really easy and will move/resize the objects so it looks fluid/animated rather than just the page reloading.

T-shirt design

I looked at the Mimix typeface the hitme logo was originally based on and this is what 'with' looked like, I think it goes quite well... what do you guys think?

Personally I like the above design a lot, where it carries on the dots to the other side and onto the logo/info.
Has anyone been able to write our ethos in a really fun way full of personality at all yet? I'm having a go but it's actually quite hard, when i've done it properly I'll post it up to see what you guys reckon.

Envelope Ideas.

Just a few basic ideas, lemme know what you think. :) I think my fav of the lot is the 3rd one down.

Some handprint stuff.

Just some random ideas I had today. Quite like the bottom one, visually interesting. Might need a bit more work with logo placement etc. It's meant to look a bit like ripples where the hand hits the logo.

What we're making...

I was thinking, we currently have:
Logo
T-Shirt
Letterhead
Business Card
Poster (with pattern created by Lizzi)

Does anyone have any other suggestions for things we can create, possibly promotional style goods? Leaflets, flyers etc.
Are we going to go ahead with the stamp idea? I think it's quite nice and tactile, also the handprint poster/t-shirt I think is something we could explore and I was gonna have a go at this afternoon.

Was just wondering what you all thought? :)

I bought the Cyan ink

I got hold of Cyan Ink today, £8.50 for 2 tubes of Acrylic "Process Cyan" the closet colour I could ge to the bright blue we chose so hopefully it should be ok. :) Thought I'd let you all know.

This website is fantastic!

http://inserviowebsolutions.co.uk/

It tells a story through illustration but still communicates about what they do etc. The links are simple rollovers and the bird stays with whichever link associated to that page. I think this is a really nice sweet idea, and really helps with the fun but professional ethos we have. So what do you guys think to having something a little similar to this for our website?

T-Shirt Notes

Lizzi I had a go with your suggestion, what do you all think?
I kinda like that it can be a bit more personal to the person wearing it if they can write what they want ont it.

Letterhead layouts with the new logo

Tell me what you think. I particularly like the ones with the large, abstract logo that bleeds of the page.

A few more T-Shirt Designs, with a bit more humour..

New logo... New t-shirts

Ok, so they're not great. I seem to have hit a bit of a rock with the t-shirt designs. Any feedback would be brill, thanks :)

Colour change - business card

I made the 'Hi there' the same colour as the background, mainly considering if we wanted to screen print this, the fewer colours the better, but also I wasn't sure about how much the white stood out from the rest of the design, and I think this harmonizes a little better.

This is the PDF version of it here - feel free to mess around with it and come up with a few more colour ideas and/or layout aspects.

More telephone business cards

First of all decided to add some of the informality of the round business card I did, exact same language. Typeface still lacking, I think it was Champagne & Limousines..
Slight change of language, still informal I think. Made 'there' the same 'typeface' as HitMe logo, changed other typeface to Minion Pro Bold Italic.

So here it is with the original telephone idea.

Or I'm thinking that a lot of people may not get the thing behind 'hit me up' so changed it to say 'Hi there' on the front instead, and HitMe on the back. I'm not really sure where to take it now, or if you guys are even that interested in the idea so feedback would be great.
And another mention, I tested what it would look like with the pattern I made with that poster on the back, so it's less plain grey. Looks quite nice but could be too much detail.
